Register Your Child for School

The office is open for registration year-round, except for a short period from late June until mid-July. Many new families arrive during the summer, so if you are registering during this time, please make an appointment as early as possible.

Interpreters are available to assist at this appointment. We have more than 132 interpreters who provide interpretation and translation support in 41 languages. There is no cost to families for language interpretation services.

If necessary, an English language assessment will be done to determine your child’s English skills. This assessment may take two hours to complete.

          Documents Required to Register

    • To register, you will need to provide legal proof of your child’s name, date of birth, and citizenship status in Canada. The following documents are acceptable:

      English Language Assessment

All students new to the CBE in Grades 1 to 12 who are NOT Canadian citizens and speak a language other than English at home will complete an English Language Proficiency Assessment during the appointment to register at Kingsland Centre.

Students will be assessed on their ability to:
      • -speak

Hello Ranchlands School Community!

The patrol picnic was a huge success! The weather was beautiful and our 83 patrollers had a wonderful time celebrating their dedication and commitment to the patrol program. For some of our newcomer patrollers, it was a first time to Heritage Park, where they had the opportunity to experience the rich history of Canada's west at the historical village. Here are some highlights:

Congratulations to all of our patrollers for achieving Gold Standard this year!

Our school safety patrollers have definitely been a highlight this year. Hello Ranchlands School Community!

The Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth

The Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth has been an important part of Ranchlands School this year. They have worked with our school community to help provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for many of our immigrant and refugee youth and their families. The CBFY works to assist newcomer families by enriching them with the appropriate information, knowledge, and experience as they build a life in Canada.

PSA Club

The Public Service Announcement Club, run by The Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth, is off to a great start. Students have begun planning their own public service announcement based on a positive message to be shared with our school community. Students will be shown an overview of the three basic stages of filmmaking –preproduction (ideas are generated), production (filming), and postproduction (editing) in the upcoming weeks.

Bridge Summer Program

The Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth is offering its Bridge Summer Program in July and August. Registration information is given below:
